How to Apply Eye Shadow

Applying eye shadow is definitely an art that make up artists seem to know by magic.

But you too can learn their secret and do your eyes to give you that glamorous look you see in the magazines.

Here are some basic eye shadow techniques you can do yourself. Try it when you’re free so that next time you want to impress your friends and family with your new look, it will be perfect!

First apply eye shadow primer from lashes to brows. This will help your eye shadow last longer.

Shut your eyes and by using your eye shadow brush, apply the main eye shadow color you have chosen (a medium shade) on your eyelid from lashes to the crease of your eye.

Open your eye. Do you see the crease? Deepen your eyes by painting the dark eye shadow into that crease.

Clean the eye shadow brush on a tissue paper to remove the other colors. Then apply the lightest shade on the outer half of your brow bone just below your eyebrow to open your eyes.

Now all you need to do is apply eye liner and mascara.

If you want to go for that smoky look this season you can choose dark colors such as violet, dark green, navy or stick to good old black.

The process is the same of applying eye shadow, only changes being that you have to apply eye liner on the lower and upper lashers and smudge it a little. Then you go over the liner with that dark eye shadow using a liner brush. Finally, lash on several coats of mascara, separating the lashes after each coat to prevent clumps.
