An Interview with Dr. Robert L. Clement on Facelift
Dr. Robert L. Clement is a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Here the Doctor has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Facelift.
Q. What is a facelift?
A. There are multiple types of facelifts, but a facelift is a procedure that lifts and reshapes sagging tissue in the face and neck.
Q. What are the benefits of a facelift procedure?
A. A facelift makes the patient look more youthful and rested. We can usually set the aging clock back 10 years without making the patient look pulled.
Q. Are there significant risks associated with facelift surgery?
A. There are moderate risks to any surgical procedure, but even minor problems occur less than 1-2% of the time.
Q. Can I expect permanent results from a facelift?
A. We are dealing with the elastic living tissue and time, gravity, bone absorption, and fat loss in the face will diminish the results. You will always look better at any age with a facelift, than you would if you had not had surgery.
Q. Is there a common technique for facelift procedures?
A. There are basic parts to all face lift procedures, but there are multiple variations depending on what is needed and the individual surgeon’s technique.
Q. Is a facelift performed under general anesthesia?
A. Facelifts are generally performed under general anesthesia, but can be done under twilight, or sedation, and local anesthesia.
Q. How do I find a qualified surgeon in my area?
A. Ask your friends who have had a facelift who look good! Also, ask your doctor , and check for board certification for plastic surgery. My board certifications are by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only plastic surgery board recognized by the AMA Medical Board.
Q. How to contact Dr. Clement if we have further questions?
