YOGA Achieve New Year Resolutions with a Foundation of Qi Gong (Chinese Yoga) ~ Kay Hutchinson
Do you find yourself making New Year resolutions but challenged to meet those goals by year's end?
If so, consider adding a powerful practice into your life that allows you to change your internal energy, your spirit. After all, lasting and profound change begins with the internal self.
Qi Gong literally means the training of energy, and is a practice over 2,000 years old.
It is an internal energy art that conditions your physical self while transforming your thinking patterns to minimize the effect of egoic thoughts on daily life, thought patterns that can lead to depression, anxiety and procrastination. Qi Gong also gently strengthens and tones the physical body in a very specific way that requires participants to be fully in the moment in order to perform the movements correctly.
Think about the last time you were fully present to an activity. You most likely were fully attentive and enjoying yourself. Qi Gong provides an opportunity to create a series of in-the-moment zones as you move through your day, for the movements and breathwork can be integrated into daily life, unlike traditional yoga or traditional western forms of exercise such as walking or swimming.
I work with corporate executives who use qi gong as a tool to become more productive. Since qi gong creates internal shifts that change our mental and physical selves, it facilitates a process of letting go of paradigms that no longer serve us well, such that our minds become free to embrace new visions and perspectives that enhance problem solving, creativity and cognitive abilities.
Often, successful entrepreneurs are characterized by their abilities to synthesize new ideas in flexible ways that have not existed before. Thus, qi gong, can be that tool to train the aspects of self that allow us to succeed professionally while also growing our personal selves.
For example, when we are able to use our focus and clarity to truly see who we are internally, then we are empowered to embrace those things that fully nourish us such as positive business relationships, positive personal relationships, and relationships with spiritual mentors.
So, as you ponder your New Year resolutions, think about integrating a practice of qi gong into your life as a foundation for achieving the discipline, clarity and focus to bring your goals and desires into manifestation.
