Rejuvenate with Qi Gong Breathwork to Energize Your Daily Tasks ~ Kay Hutchinson

As we move into the new year, sometimes we need an energy boost to help us manifest all the new transformations that we aspire towards. We find all types of excuses for why we cannot take five or ten minutes to meditate or renew ourselves, but the truth  is that there is nothing that is truly standing in our way. The time is there as all of us take five minutes to go to the restroom, grab a cup of tea or coffee, sit in traffic, walk from this office to that office, stroll with our children, or rock our babies to sleep.

This short qi gong meditation and breath work can be performed during all of the above activities to help center yourself and create focus amid your busy day.

(1) Sit comfortably in your chair or stand.  You can also perform this meditation while walking or sitting in your car. Exhale for a long count of five.

(2) Breathe in deeply for a long count of nine.

(3) Continue breathing deeply with the exhalations of five counts and inhalations of nine counts.

(4) Feel energy growing warm and bright in your lower abdomen as you continue to breathe.

(5) Visualize that energy glowing with new will, determination and drive to bring forth the best part of yourself.

As that energy glows, deepen your breathe, making sure to exhale fully by contracting your abdomen, and inhale deep into the lower abdomen.

(6) As the energy glows brightest in the lower abdomen, see all your strengthts magnified and now imagine that light expanding outward to fill an outer energy bubble that surrounds your body.

(7) Feel yourself surrounded by this warm, vibrant energy, ready to perform the next activity in your day.
