Astrology is something many of us are interested in' even if we claim not to believe in it. People love to read about their character' life and aspirations through astrology' often in light hearted curiosity and awe. If they read something good about their star or sun sign' their interest would be revoked to dig deeper into this extraordinary discipline that has captured many hearts today.
One who has a more kindled interest in the subject would no doubt ask the question' how did astrology originate? The answer is as interesting and intruding as the subject itself.
The main reason behind the origination of astrology would be man's curiosity and thirst for knowledge beyond comprehension. Since time immortal' man has been awed by the sun' the moon' the stars and the planets' objects beyond reach' but very much a part of day to day life. The magnetic interactions of these celestial bodies were felt by ancient man' and he devised a method to identify the effects of these interactions in day to day life. This was the root of astrology!
Mesopotamians were the first to discover this astounding connection' although Astrology as a proper discipline originated in the oriental world. The Indian Vedic scriptures are the most ancient form of astrology known to man' practiced today with much awe and fascination. It is a time tested form of predicting a person's life-path or the outcomes of an event. The teachings of ancient Vedic Guru's were amazingly accurate' as they use various theories and calculations before making a predication. They draw up birth charts or horoscopes from these calculations and use them as keys for all such future predictions.
Yes' astrology is indeed a very deep and well organized discipline' and has been so since its inception' which is one reason for its worldwide fame. This is also why this timeless art would have reached all parts of the world and evolved on its course' forming new traditions and beliefs. This is evident by the various forms of astrology found today. Some of the most popular amongst them are Chinese Astrology' Persian Astrology' Egyptian Astrology and Hellenistic Astrology. It is unsure whether these forms originated on their own or evolved from a common origin' as they do have a common base' but vary extensively in their beliefs. Whatever the means' one fact remains true' they were accepted by society with awe and fascination and have survived the course of time.
Even today' in a world where science and logic is the basis of all discoveries' Astrology has still survived. Researchers even try to give a scientific basis to astrology' although there is much debate on the subject.
As a gateway between reality and ideology' there is no doubt that astrology plays a key role in today's society!
