Numbers play a significant role in our daily lives. Numbers influence us through our names, addresses, time, money, pin numbers, elevators, bank accounts, telephone, etc. Life can be very difficult for humans without numbers. Even though we cannot see or feel the effects of these numbers on our lives, they do have a huge effect on our lives, which is the theory behind Numerology.
Numerology is the study of numbers, which helps people to predict their own futures. It is similar to astrology, but is relatively easier. Numerology deals with the Sun, Moon, Uranus, Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Saturn and Mars which are denoted by numbers from 1 to 9 respectively. It is believed that each number has its own meaning and its own influence on an individual. The date of birth of an individual and his/her name is used to calculate this. It is believed that these numerological influences change from time to time.
As said earlier, your lucky number can be found in two ways, i.e. using one’s date of birth or by one’s name. Of these two methods, the former is believed to be more accurate than the latter.
To derive your Lucky Number or ‘Life Path Number’ using the date of birth, write it down on paper before all. Then add all the numbers in it. You will then arrive at its sum. Add the summed up figure too to arrive at a final figure (which lies within the range of 1-9). This is your lucky number.

If you don’t know your birth date, you can use your name to find your lucky number. The Pythagorean method (out of the other types of numerology: Chaldean, Kabbalah, Abracadabra, and New Kabbalah) can be used to calculate this. In this method, each letter is assigned a number as shown in the table below.

Write down your full name and then assign these numbers to those respective letters. Add the numbers and the answer will be usually over 9. So add the summed up number again, so that the final number lies within 1-9. This is then your lucky number.
