Dr. Stanley Crawford is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Braces.
Q. Can one be too old for braces?
A. No. I have done orthodontic treatment on people in their 70’s.
Q. How much does braces cost?
A. The cost of braces depends on the treatment needed. Everyone is different with what they need and how long treatment will take. I recommend scheduling an initial exam. At that visit we can give you a financial estimate, along with payment options.
Q. When will one begin to see changes in his/her teeth after the braces are put on?
A. Often times, alignment of the teeth starts right away. One can usually see the teeth moving with the first couple of weeks.
Q. Will one need to have teeth extracted for braces?
A. The need for tooth removal is highly individualistic and because of everyone’s uniqueness, a diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to address his/her specific needs is important. Not everyone needs to have teeth removed to achieve excellent results.
Q. How long will it take to complete the treatment?
A. Everyone is different and there are many variables to consider when evaluating treatment time. Generally, the average treatment time can be 20-24 months.
Q. Can a person wear braces even though that person may have crowns and missing teeth?
A. Yes.
Q. How can I prevent my child from being embarrassed by wearing braces?
A. Most kids wear braces and do fine with them because they are not alone. Most also enjoy changing colors on their braces regularly. For the older kids, sometimes the clear brackets are a good, esthetic option.
Q. How to contact Dr. Crawford if we have further questions?
A.
