An Interview with Dr. Nadia Hamouda on Dental Sealants
Dr. Nadia Hamouda is a dentist and has answered some of the most common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Dental Sealants.
Q. What are dental sealants?
A. Sealants are a plastic resin that a dentist or hygienist will put into the deep grooves of molars that cannot be fully cleaned by tooth brush bristles. By doing this we can greatly reduce the risk of cavities.
Q. How do dental sealants work?
A. The plastic resin fills in deep grooves, preventing bacteria from forming cavities.
Q. Which teeth are suitable for sealants?
A. Premolars and molars.
Q. How are sealants applied?
A. The tooth is dried and then the resin is poured into the grooves. Then we check your bite to make sure there is not too much material.
Q. Are sealants visible?
A. No, they are tooth colored.
Q. Will sealants make teeth feel different?
A. No they should not.
Q. How long will sealants last?
A. Sealants can last five to 15 years depending on the patient.
Q. How can we contact Dr. Hamouda if we have further questions?
A. We can be reached at 734-222-0055 or send us an email at smile@whitepearldentistsry.com
