An Interview with Dr. Josie Keat on Tooth Whitening

Dr. Josie Keat is a dentist and has answered some of the common questions Bizymoms visitors have about Tooth Whitening.

Q. Who may benefit from teeth whitening?

A. Almost everyone with healthy teeth can benefit from teeth whitening!  There is virtually no downside to whitening your teeth and many upsides!  When people have a brighter smile, they tend to smile more often and have more confidence.  In addition, a whiter smile gives way to a more youthful and energetic appearance.

Q. Who are not recommended to undergo teeth whitening?

A. You should not consider professional teeth whitening if you are pregnant, under 16, have loose teeth or fillings, or are allergic to any ingredient in the product.

Q. What does tooth whitening involve?

A. Totally Dental offers both in-office and take-home professional whitening treatments.  Our in-office whitening treatment gel offers a brighter, whiter smile after just one hour in the dental chair.   Our take-home kit allows to obtain professional results in the comfort of your home with custom made trays fit to your teeth that can usually be worn while you sleep.  With many options available whitening has never been easier!

Q. How long does this take?

A. Depending on the treatment that  you decide upon professional teeth whitening can take between one and ten hours.

Q. How much does tooth whitening cost?

A. Typically prices for professional teeth whitening can range between $150-$550.

Q. What are the side effects?

A. Some people may feel a little sensitivity, a tingling sensation, or white gum lines- all of which are normal and hold no real danger.  Typically this will last a few hours to a few days.

Q. How to contact Dr. Keat if we have further questions?
